” what 3 events n history makes sum of what SC is 2_day”
The question was what three events that we have studied have had the greatest impact on making South Central what it is today.The first event I picked was the ”Early History of Watts/LA”.The next event that I choosed have one of the biggest effects today out of these three.It was the”Crack Epidemic”.And the last but not least evant was the ”watts riots History”.This still has a big effect also!
The first event that im going to talk about happend around the early 70’s in the 1700’s.It was how La became LA.LA had already exsisted in the 1540’s but was not originally named LA.The LA area was the original home for the Tongva and Chumash people until Spanish people arrived in 1542.LA was actully incorporated as a city in 1850.By 1923,la was supplying a quarter of the worlds oil.So now we know how la became itself.
My next event that i chosed was the ”Crack Epidemic”.It all started in the 1980’s when the Nicarauguans needed to raise money for materials for the World War so they told the U.S can they sell crack cocaine in the ghettos/LA and the U.S agreed.They were just thinkin about they selves and not all the people in the ghettos that it will effect.I actually thought blacks made and strated this crack situation,but thats not true at all.They are the reason our people are getting destroyed.Blacks just kept it alive.Maybe if the nicaraguans had not brung up crack many places like SC will have more people caring about their life,family, and friends more.
And that last topic I picked was called the”Watts Riots”.Even though the watts riots were just one fight they still have a huge effect on whats here and whats happening around here today in whats and south central.The watts riots was one of the craziest riots that ever happened in LA.It all started when a boy named ”Marquette Frye” got pulled over for reckless driving by a white police officer.This happend on august 11,1965.Nobody who saw the white officer that pulled frye over thought he was treating him fairly and they basically got tired of the way they were being treated so thats why they wanted to riot.The riot started off small and got bigger and bigger.Iit lasted for 3 days.There were million’s_thousands of dollars in damages.And it ended because of the national guards.At the end 34 people were dead and 118 people suffered gunshot wounds.
All of the events we studied in TechnoStudies are very important and have part in what’s here and what’s going on in South Central today.But these have the biggest effects today in south central today.Im gone start off with the smallest effect from these three events. If you look around you won’t see alot of white people.Alot of people are happy that it ain’t alot of white people around here but after the Watts Riots their was a harsh effect.Now the crack epidemic really is in the top events that have effects today.If you look around you will see alot of people begging for money to buy crack.Most of them really don’t care about nothing but crack.That ain’t good at all.The watts riots have effected how many people feel about the police today.I don’t blame them.Gang History also have agreat big effect on all these gangs today.It’s more about being cool and having power than protecting your people today!!!!!!!!
